Multiple design options for sizing off-grid microgrids: A novel single-objective approach to support multi-criteria decision making

چکیده

When designing a microgrid, developers usually regard economic metrics, and occasionally consider reliability environmental aspects. However, sociopolitical, supply chain, geographical facets, among others, are often never included in project-design because they really difficult to model, especially, the context of developing countries. Traditional planning methodologies offer an optimal solution, disregarding solutions with similar profitability but different size components, even when these second-best can better fit non-considered intangible developer needs. In this paper, we define concept Multiple Design Options (MDO) for single-objective optimization. We propose novel methodology (MDO-PSO) sizing stand-alone hybrid energy systems that, by using Particle Swarm Optimization, identifies solution post-processes search history select options interest. While searching traditional optimum, proposed iterative algorithm stores all tried configurations. Moreover, Pareto-like frontier, denoted as MDO-Pareto, is highlight tradeoff between Net Present Cost (NPC) CAPEX. The frontier also compared standard multi-objective optimization illustrate how MDO-PSO successfully captures multiple goals. numerical case study PV-battery-diesel-tank system Uganda confirms that MDOs differing up 32% capacity achieve NPC values within 2%–5% optimality both load following predictive MILP rolling-horizon operating strategies, thus suggesting important implications business decision making.

Evaluation of recommender systems: A multi-criteria decision making approach

The evaluation and selection of recommender systems is a difficult decision making process. This difficulty is partially due to the large diversity of published evaluation criteria in addition to lack of standardized methods of evaluation. As such, a systematic methodology is needed that explicitly considers multiple, possibly conflicting metrics and assists decision makers to evaluate and find...

A Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Approach with Interval Numbers for Evaluating Project Risk Responses

The risk response development is one of the main phases in the project risk management that has major impacts on a large-scale project’s success. Since projects are unique, and risks are dynamic through the life of the projects, it is necessary to formulate responses of the important risks. Conventional approaches tend to be less effective in dealing with the imprecise of the risk response deve...

A decision support model for multi-attribute group decision making using a multi-objective optimization approach

The multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problem has received considerable attention in the decision analysis field and fruitful achievements have been reported in the literature. This paper focuses on the MAGDM in which the subjective absolute judgement on alternatives with respect to evaluating attributes are represented by fuzzy numbers. This paper employs the consensus degree to me...
